Q - What age of clients do your therapist work with?
A - 13+ years old. Children must be willing to participate in the therapeutic process. For 12 years of age and younger we recommend you search for a child or play therapist.
Q - What is the age for consent for mental health treatment?
A - 14+ years old.
Q - Why doesn't Mindful Counseling accept court ordered cases or clients currently involved with litigation?
A - We specialize in the regular and ongoing process of counseling not related to legal proceedings or court orders. We recommend another agency that does accept court ordered cases or a forensic therapist if you are currently involved in litigation.
Q - Why doesn't Mindful Counseling accept 3rd Party Referrals?
A - A 3rd Party Referral is when Mindful Counseling is contacted by an individual or company seeking services for someone other than themselves. We value communicating with future clients directly and our research concludes this quality assures our specialties meet the client's needs. This also increases the client's understanding of our policies and expectations and minimizes attendance issues. We can certainly answer any questions a concerned friend or family member may have regarding connecting their loved one with services.
Q - Why can't Mindful Counseling bill Medicare?
A - Most of our therapists hold LPCC and LMFT licensures. LPCCs and LMFTs are not approved for payment by Medicare.
Q - How long are therapy sessions?
A - Sessions typically last 45 - 50 minutes.
Q - Why doesn't Mindful Counseling offer a wait list?
A - Mindful Counseling does not currently offer and maintain a wait list for individuals and families seeking our services. Our practice has limited resources and as an alternative to a wait list we post our available appointments on the home page of our website and encourage all those seeking services to visit our site regularly so they are aware of openings as they become available.
