Michelle Knight, MSW, LCSW, Owner
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners. I hold a Master of Social Work Degree in Social Work Clinical Practice with a concentration in Clinical Social Work and Substance Use Disorders. I received both my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from New Mexico Highlands University.

I have experience working with clients with a variety of problems, concerns, and diagnoses which have included substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, communication issues, relationship issues, LGBTQIAPPK concerns, anger management, life transitions, self-esteem and acceptance issues, and more. I work with adults, adolescents (16+), couples, and families. I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, environment for my clients by sharing unconditional positive regard, compassion, empathy, acceptance, and a little humor and fun. My goal is to provide a space where you can openly share your story, identify and explore unhealthy behavioral and cognitive patterns, as well as support and help facilitate change where desired and needed.

I utilize a client-centered approach incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities based on client need including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, psychoeducation, and EMDR.

I am very proud to say I was born and raised in northern New Mexico and have lived in New Mexico the majority of my life. I have had the opportunity to be part of, connect, and work with many different communities and populations throughout New Mexico both professionally and personally. I am grateful that I can continue supporting my community in a professional manner by assisting others in improving well-being, balance, and satisfaction with life.

I provide both In-0ffice and Telehealth counseling.  I work at Mindful Counseling's westside office and I provide individual, couples, and family counseling to ages 16+.

I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California, and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2005, first in California and now in New Mexico.  I also have a Master of Science Degree in Journalism from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.  I have extensive experience in almost all compulsive behavior issues:  alcohol and substance abuse, eating disorders, sexually compulsive behavior, compulsive stealing, internet addiction and gambling addition.  In addition, I am experienced in communication issues, relationship conflict, LGBT issues, depression, anxiety and anti-social behaviors.  I work non-judgmentally, with compassion and empathy, plus a bit of humor. I use a variety of methods when working with clients.  I see my job not as an "advice-giver", but rather a conduit to help my clients see options so they can choose their own means towards a happier and more rewarding life.

Originally from the Midwest, I've spent the past 35 years in San Francisco and Berkeley, but have longed to relocate to New Mexico since my first visit 25 years ago.  I made the move and am proud and happy to say I love Albuquerque and plan to make this my permanent home.

I offer telehealth counseling (online) to individuals, ages 16+.  I do not offer couples or family counseling nor do I meet with clients In-Office.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Counseling/Psychology from Western New Mexico University and a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University.  I am a Licensed Board Certified Professional Counselor with the New Mexico Counseling and Regulation Board.  My focus is to offer healing in relationships.  I have experience working with individuals, couples and families on various issues such as communication, conflict, stress, and increasing relationship connection.  I have experience working in a research organization that contributes to the knowledge base of treatments that are most effective in helping families and adolescents with difficult life situations.

I am a native of New Mexico, and was inspired to work with individuals and families by personal experience in my life.  My grandfather was a political activist for the land grant movement in New Mexico, and both of my parents spent their young adult lives planning and assisting him with political events.  The family suffered many consequences associated with generating social change in the community.  This experience has been one of the motivating factors for me to establish a strong working alliance with individuals that will give hope and motivate change to improve situations and increase a sense of well-being.

I currently offer telehealth (online) counseling for individual counseling to women, ages 25+.  I do not offer couples counseling nor do I specialize in clients who experience substance use or abuse.

Samantha Parker-Zillich, LCSW (She/Her)

I have a Master’s of Clinical Social Work Degree from New Mexico Highlands University and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am EMDRIA certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and other related concerns.
I was born and raised in New Mexico and have lived here most of my life. I am passionate about social justice and advocating for marginalized and oppressed populations. I’m also a dog lover and avid bookworm.

As a queer and neurodivergent identified therapist, I specialize in working with those who have often been othered by our society, including those who are members of the LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC communities, folks who have experienced trauma or abuse, and those who are neurodivergent. Through an affirming, strengths-based, trauma informed, and Solution-Focused Therapy lens, I emphasize an individual’s strengths, internal resources, and natural supports to overcome life’s challenges and find peace within ourselves.

I also offer neuro-affirming ADHD and autism assessments using a strengths-based lens for those seeking academic or workplace accommodations, or for those who simply wish to explore their lived experience. Assessments are for anyone age 14+. Please note the ADHD and autism assessments are not a comprehensive psychological evaluation and may not be widely accepted with certain institutions for accommodations or government benefits.

I see clients at the Westside office and I provide both In-Office and Telehealth counseling appointments to adults for individual counseling.  On a limited basis I will work with couples and with adolescents as young as 12 years of age.
